Certified Cost Engineer / Consultant (CCE/CCC®) – The milestone for professional engage in cost management. Examination Structure:
A 70% passing grade must be achieved on the examination as determined by the AACE Certification Board. The CCC/CCE certification examination begins at 8:00 AM and concludes at 5:00 PM. Each part is 1 hour 45 minutes in length, with a 15 minute break between each part. There is a 2 hour break for lunch.
Part 1 – 50 multiple-choice questions on Supporting Skills & Knowledge (open book)
Part 2 – on Cost Estimating and Control
Part 3 – on Project Management
Part 4 – on Economic Analysis (open book)
Parts 2, 3 and 4 consist of two sections each. The first section has 5 compound questions which contain 7 multiple-choice questions each. You will choose to answer only TWO of these compound questions, resulting in answering only 14 multiple-choice questions for the first section of each part. The second section of each part consists of 20 multiple-choice questions.
Professional Paper Requirement: You will submit an electronic copy of a minimum 2,500 words on a cost engineering-related subject which must be submitted before or at the time of the examination. Papers previously authored within the prior three years may be used if they meet the specific technical and length requirements. Papers are graded on a pass/fail basis.
